Returns, Refunds & Warranty Policy – PHOL-LABS Kft.
1. Right of Withdrawal (14 Days – EU Consumers)
In accordance with EU consumer law, consumers have the right to withdraw from their purchase within 14 days of receipt, without giving any reason.
Conditions:
- Products must be returned in undamaged condition, complete, and, where reasonably possible, in original packaging.
- Products that show signs of use beyond what is necessary to establish their nature and functioning may be subject to depreciation.
- The customer bears the cost of return shipping.
- Refunds are processed within 14 days after receipt of the returned goods or proof of return.
Exclusions:
The right of withdrawal does not apply to:
- Custom-made or personalized items
- Sealed goods which are not suitable for return for health or hygiene reasons once opened
- Digital content once downloaded or activated
2. Product Condition & Classification
We sell products in different conditions, which are clearly indicated on the product page:
- New / NOS (New Old Stock): Unused items that may show signs of long-term storage, packaging wear, or cosmetic aging.
- Refurbished: Used products that have been inspected, tested, and restored to working condition where possible. Minor cosmetic imperfections may be present.
- Used / Salvaged Parts: Functional components removed from older systems or sourced from surplus stock.
- DIY Kits / PCBs / Modules: Intended for technically competent users and provided for integration into custom projects.
By purchasing refurbished, used, or NOS items, the customer acknowledges that cosmetic wear, aging-related issues, and compatibility limitations may occur.
3. Warranty & Legal Guarantee (EU Consumers)
For consumers in the European Union, products are covered by the statutory 2-year legal guarantee of conformity, as required by EU law.
However, given the nature of NOS, refurbished, used parts, automotive electronics, and DIY components:
- The guarantee applies only to defects present at the time of delivery.
- Cosmetic wear, aging of components, and reduced service life of refurbished or NOS items do not constitute defects.
- For refurbished and used items, the expected service life may be shorter than that of new products.
After the first 12 months, the customer may be required to demonstrate that the defect already existed at the time of delivery.
4. Installation, Compatibility & Professional Use Disclaimer
Many of our products are technical components intended for integration into vehicles, electronic systems, or DIY projects.
We are not responsible for:
- Incorrect installation
- Incompatibility with the customer’s system, vehicle, or project
- Damage caused by improper wiring, power supply issues, or configuration
- Failures resulting from use outside the manufacturer’s or product’s intended specifications
Unless explicitly stated, products are supplied without installation instructions and are intended for users with appropriate technical knowledge. Professional installation is recommended for automotive electronics and safety-critical components.
5. Warranty Service & Return Shipping
Unless otherwise required by mandatory consumer law:
- The customer is responsible for shipping the product back to us for inspection.
- If a warranty claim is accepted, we will cover the cost of shipping the repaired or replacement product back to the customer.
- For customers outside the EU, all shipping costs, customs duties, and import taxes related to returns are borne by the customer. Returned items must be clearly marked as “Returned Goods”.
6. Exclusions from Warranty
Warranty and refund claims do not apply in cases of:
- Normal wear and tear or aging of electronic components
- Damage caused by incorrect installation, wiring, power supply, or configuration
- Mechanical damage, liquid damage, corrosion, overheating, or electrical surges
- Modifications, reverse engineering, or unauthorized repairs
- Use in motorsport, industrial, or safety-critical applications unless explicitly approved
- Installation of custom or unofficial firmware where this causes malfunction
- DIY assembly errors, soldering mistakes, or misuse of PCB products
Software and firmware are provided “as is” and may contain bugs. No guarantee is given that firmware will be uninterrupted or error-free.
7. Automotive Parts – Special Notice
Automotive electronic parts are highly dependent on:
- Vehicle model
- Year of manufacture
- Engine variant
- ECU firmware and configuration
The customer is responsible for verifying compatibility before purchase. We do not guarantee that an automotive electronic part will solve a specific vehicle fault or diagnostic error.
Parts sold for automotive use may be intended for off-road, testing, or experimental purposes only, unless explicitly stated otherwise.
8. Refund Method & Fees
Refunds are issued via the original payment method.
Important: Transaction fees charged by payment providers (e.g. PayPal) are non-refundable where such fees are not reimbursed to us by the provider.
